Account queries

In order to use an i12 account, we would recommend that the specifications for your computer should be (as a minimum) either:

1. An IBM compatible PC with a Pentium or higher processor, a SVGA graphics card and colour monitor, a 33.6k or higher modem, at least 64mb of RAM, at least 250mb of available hard disk space and either Microsoft Windows 95/98 or Windows NT 4, or

2. An Apple/iMac with a colour graphics card and monitor, a 33.6k or higher modem, at least 32mb of RAM, at least 200mb of available hard disk space and Apple System 7.0 or higher.

Bear in mind that almost any computer purchased within the last three years would greatly exceed the above.

i12 fully supports networked PC's and Apple Mac's, and runs with most network operating systems including Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server. i12 also works with CTI telephone systems such as the Argent Office from Lucent Technologies.

What are the settings I need to manually setup an i12 connection?
When you sign up for an i12 account, you will be given the option to have your computer automatically setup for you with all the necessary settings. However, if you choose, you may setup your computer manually.

Alternatively, many new operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows XP, have built in 'internet connection wizards' in which you are asked a series of questions, upon completion of which you will have an internet connection created for you. Below are the various details you may need so that you can successfully do this. Note however that you may not need to use all the details:

Can I access my i12 account from more than one machine?
Yes, simply signup with i12 on your primary machine and click the "configure automatically" button that you see after the signup screen. Record your details including your userID and password and keep them in a safe place. Then move to your secondary machine and create a manual dialup connection (for easy to follow details on how to do this, click here).
