One of the most exciting things you can
do on the internet is to hold audio or video conferences. You
can use Microsoft NetMeeting (which comes free on the i12 CD
ROM) or a huge number of other video conferencing programs
released recently to stay in touch with family, friends, and
co-workers on the other side of the country, or the other side
of the world.
If you have
NetMeeting, you don't need a video camera in order to receive video,
but if you'd like to purchase a camera your local computer supplier
is likely to have a large range. Here's how video
conferencing works:
To receive
video Call someone you want to see/hear.
On the "Tools" menu, point to "Video",
and then click "Receive".
If you have a video camera, you can send video to the person
you're calling.
To send video Call someone you want to see/hear.
Click the "Start Video" button.
Note
You can also send video by clicking the "Tools"
menu, pointing to "Video", and then clicking "Send".
After starting the video, the button changes to Stop Video.
To stop the video, click the "Stop Video" button
again.
